Randy Seals, a native of middle Tennessee, joined FRM a short while ago,
and from that moment, he has become one of the go-to guys in the organization. Seals joins FRM with a wealth of knowledge
about these cars and chassis.
Seals’s racing career began in middle Tennessee, at the age of 16, when he began racing go-karts around the
area. It did not take long for the racing bug to bite him, and from that time on, his focus was to make a name for himself
in the motorsports community.
While finishing high school and attending college, Seals worked on Dirt Late Models in
the Tennessee area. After graduating from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical
Engineering, he honed his racing and chassis skills at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee.
This
proved to be an excellent training ground where Seals was a valuable part of two Late Model championships in 1996 and 1997
with the late, Andy Kirby. During this time, he caught the eye of LAR Motorsports, and at the end of the 1998 season, he accepted
an engineering position with the team. Seals stayed with LAR for most of the 1999 and 2000 seasons, while also taking on the
crew chief position for Mike Harmon in the ARCA (Auto Racing Club of America) Series.
In 2001, Seals made the move
to Baker Racing where he served as Brad Baker’s crew chief in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series. This is where
he first gained Bobby Hamilton’s attention. When Baker Racing fell on hard times due to lack of sponsorship, Seals was
offered the truck chief position on the No. 4 Bobby Hamilton Racing Team. He accepted and maintained that position until mid-2002,
when he assumed the crew chief position for the No. 4 team.
Over the 2002 off-season, Seals was offered the crew chief
position at the No. 18 Dickies Dodge with driver, Chad Chaffin. Seals accepted that position and stayed there until he moved
over to the No. 8 BHR team that Bill Lester drives for after seven races of 2003 season. The move came as a result of Seals’
past talents with relatively new drivers and what the organization deemed a solid restructuring. In 2006 Seals just recently
join Front Row Motorsports as Crew Chief for Chad Chaffin and the No. 61 Dodge Charger.
